Today, we're upgrading Qoder's free plan to Community Edition.
Community Edition retains Qoder's core product capabilities, including multi-platform client support, code completion, AI Agent mode, and Quest mode. We're also opening BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) to all individual users: connect your own model provider API key and get the full Qoder experience.
BYOK was previously available only to paid users. Starting today, it's free for everyone.
Qoder provides a world-class Agent Harness. You choose the model and the budget. What model to use, how much to spend, how to connect: that's your call.
BYOK: Three Ways to Connect

We support three flexible ways to bring your own model, covering different use cases and budgets:
- Coding Plan: AI coding subscription packages offered by major model providers. Monthly billing with per-request pricing, optimized for coding workflows. Best for developers who code with AI daily.
- Token Plan: Usage-based billing based on actual token consumption. Supports text, image, and other multimodal tasks, with team-shared quotas and seat management. Best for teams with diverse AI needs.
- Pay-as-you-go API Key: Plug in your model provider's standard API key directly. Real-time billing by usage, zero setup friction. This is a newly supported option.
No matter which method you choose, Qoder charges no additional routing fees.
Supported Model Providers at Launch
We've integrated the following five model providers at launch:
- Alibaba Cloud Model Studio — Alibaba Cloud's MaaS platform, offering the Qwen 3.6 series along with DeepSeek, GLM, and more.
- Zhipu AI — Focused on code generation and long-horizon agent tasks. Latest model: GLM-5.1.
- DeepSeek — Known for open-source models and strong cost-efficiency. Latest model: DeepSeek-V4.
- Kimi (Moonshot AI) — Long-context and code capabilities. Latest open-source model: Kimi K2.6.
- MiniMax — One of the earliest multimodal AI companies in China. Latest text model: MiniMax-M2.7.
More providers will be added over time. You can choose freely based on your preference and budget.
For a more powerful experience, including zero-config access to the world's leading coding models, consider upgrading to Qoder paid plans.
Built for Every User
A student can use their own API key to build course projects in Qoder. An indie developer can pick the most cost-effective model to power a side project. An early-stage team can validate their workflow with Community Edition before deciding whether to upgrade.
We don't choose your model for you. We don't set your budget. Our goal remains the same: to make a leading agentic coding product accessible to everyone.
Community Edition and BYOK are available starting April 30, 2026. Configure your API key in any Qoder client and start coding.
Good tools should have no barriers. We hope Community Edition is where you begin.
